Great Start

So this is the first week of starting to sell our product for our $100 challenge.  I had an incredible experience in selling my first driftwood sculpture.  I posted my first sculpture to various social media sites and got a message from a collector that bought it for $300.  Within the first day I was able to meet the challenge.  I am looking forward to seeing how this challenge further progresses.  I was initially going to price the sculptures around $75 but I’m re-evaluating this due to the sale.
I enjoyed learning this week about employees.  It was interesting to read about Zappos and what ends they went to in order to create their company culture.  It was also interesting to read the other classmates thoughts on this on the discussion board.
Another interesting idea that has been in my mind all week was the video on David Neeleman on how he found out what the customer wanted and focused on that.  He understood that no matter what he did he would not be able to provide good airplane food at a reasonable cost.  Taking that money and investing it in an area that would make a difference was really smart.  I was impressed with this move.  It is something that I will keep in mind and consider in my business pursuits.

Lastly, I have always considered current customers as an important aspect of your business but I did not know to such a large degree they have in increasing revenue.  This is very beneficial information to have and explore.
