Looking Forward

I have been thinking about entrepreneurship for some time.  I have always been impressed by those who create their own path.  I have a great example of that in my father-in-law.  He has always had a passion for horses and at a young age began to train thoroughbred racehorses.  This year he was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame.  He has numerous accomplishments and achievements that he has acquired. This last week he won his 1,700th race.  It is pretty remarkable to see someone with the dedication and mindset he has to achieve his goals.  Through his passion and dedication he has been able to provide well for his family.  It has inspired me to do so with my interests.

I have continued to follow my passions in life but never with a complete dedication or commitment, they have always been a side project.  Through this class I hope to develop the skills, knowledge and assets to help me realize my goals and make an impact on the people I come in contact with.

As Jeff Sandefer said in 'Living Life as an Enterpreneurial Hero, "all journeys and paths to mastery begin with a first step."  I need to build the tools and confidence to take that first step.  I think through this course and with the tools I gain, my confidence will build to allow my to take that first all important step.  Also learning that failure in part of the process is helpful.  "The sooner you embrace failure as a friend, the better."  It is important to try and continue to persevere.

Through this blog I will be able to write down my thoughts as I proceed through this course and use this in the future to reflect on the ideas and insights I have gained.  It will be interesting to look back in a few years to see where I am now to where I will be.

I look forward to this course and the value I will get from it.
